From the Officers of ACRO

Words of Wisdom from the Officers of the
Afrikan Culture and Religious Organization (ACRO)

Naja’s Words of Wisdom
Ancestral Naming Ceremonies, Understanding the Significance, and Encouraging the Use of, receiving and using your ancestral name is extremely important.  The names can provide great detail about a person, where they came from, their lineage and their destiny.   We assist you with receiving this birth right. We register at ACRO with our given names but we use our ancestral names daily.

"You are a spirit and you have to know and understand your DNA."

- Excerpt from 'Love Under the Kola Nut Tree.'

Roncs’ Words of Wisdom
To your family you may be one person, but to your community you are the world.

Yvette’s Words of Wisdom
"The journey of a thousand miles, begins with one step". This is what the journey ahead feels like after finding ancestral origins via DNA.  It is filled with joy, liberation and challenges.  You will be tested and perhaps shunned on why you have decided to look for your origins, but the joy of knowing and connecting will far outweigh the challenges if you stay on the journey.  Welcome home!
